Aloha, I am Danielle Shimoda and I am a freshman at the University of Hawaii - Manoa majoring in Secondary Education with a focus in Japanese and Korean. I enjoy my time in the marching and concert bands, learning new languages, and exploring the island with my friends. I am writing this blog to share information on South Africa's weather events throughout the spring semester. South Africa is also known as the Republic of South Africa and is in the southern most part of Africa. It is a cultural meting pot much like Hawaii and they have recognized 11 official languages. It has a normally temperate climate due to being surrounded by water. I have never blogged before so this is my first one. I am excited for this new experience and am interested to see the outcome.
