Geography

Picture acquired from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outline_of_South_Africa

South Africa is located on the bottom of Africa. On its border, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Botswana are separating it from the north. The south Atlantic and Indian oceans separate it from places like South America and Australia. South Africa is the size of 44 Hawaii's! They are a whopping 1,221,037 km^2 where as we here in Hawaii only account for 28,311 km^2. If you would like to compare other places do check out this website: http://mapfight.appspot.com/za-vs-us.hi/south-africa-hawaii-us-size-comparison
However, in comparison to the US, the US is 661% bigger than South Africa.
Most of the geography, as shown by the physical map above, is around the same height. There are a lot of smaller rivers in this area which look like little veins in someones wrist. I hope you can check out the links and even compare other places to your home states!
